CeRu2: A magnetic superconductor with extremely small magnetic moments.

چکیده
Muon-spin-relaxation experiments and ac low-field magnetization measurements have been carried out on the superconductor CeRu2. The relaxation rate of the muon-spin polarization in zero field exhibits a small but significant increase below TM.40 K, which is suppressed by applying a longitudinal field. This result taken together with magnetization measurements provides definite evidence for the occurrence of static electronic magnetism involving extremely small magnetic moments. Our work shows that CeRu2 is a member of a restricted family of superconducting compounds that order magnetically with extremely small magnetic moments at a temperature much higher than that at which they become superconducting. @S0163-1829~96!51138-0#

Spin screening of magnetic moments in superconductors
– We consider ferromagnetic particles embedded into a superconductor and study the screening of their magnetic moments by the spins of the Cooper pairs in the superconductor. It is shown that a magnetic moment opposite to the one of the ferromagnetic particle is induced in the superconductor. In the case of a small itinerant ferromagnet grain and low temperatures the full screening of the magne...

In this research, the effect of addition of silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles on the improvement of the structural, superconductivity, magnetic, and flux pinning properties of high-temperature superconductor Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+θ (Bi-2223) was investigated. The Bi-2223 ceramic superconductor was prepared using the sol-gel method, and silicon carbide nanoparticles were modified by Azobisiso...
متن کاملInterplay between classical magnetic moments and superconductivity in quantum one-dimensional conductors: toward a self-sustained topological Majorana phase.
We study a one-dimensional interacting electronic liquid coupled to a 1D array of classical magnetic moments and to a superconductor. We show that at low energy and temperature the magnetic moments and the electrons become strongly entangled and that a magnetic spiral structure emerges. For strong enough coupling between the electrons and magnetic moments, the 1D electronic liquid is driven int...

In the frame work of relativistic density functional theory, using full potential local orbital band structure scheme (FPLO), the magnetic properties of single 3d transition metals (3d-TM) adsorbed on 2D hexagonal boron nitride (2D h-BN) are investigated. Binding energies between 3d-TM adatoms and 2D h-BN in three different compositions, local spin magnetic moments of 3d-TM and total spin magne...
متن کاملHistory dependence of peak effect in CeRu2 and V3Si: an analogy with the random field Ising systems
We present results of transport measurements showing distinct path dependence of the electrical resistance in the superconducting vortex state of single crystal samples of CeRu2 and V3Si. Resistance measured in the vortex state of both the systems prepared by field cooling (FC), indicates a relatively higher degree of disorder than when it is prepared by isothermal variation of field. Small osc...
